Hartford, CT - Real Estate

Cap Building   As one of America's original cities, Hartford was founded in the early 1600's, and later established by Reverend Thomas Hooker in 1636.  As a feature stop on the Connecticut River, Hartford grew from what was once known as the "House of Hope" to be one of New England's rising stars and now ranked in the top six percent of the nation for its arts and culture!

Arising from true American history, it is only right for the city of Hartford to house some of the most prestigious landmarks in U.S. history.  The Wadsworth Atheneum is the United States' first public museum, and is one of the historical features of Hartford.  Another historical landmark is the Mark Twain House where some of Twain's most infamous works were composed: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (shown to the left).  Another famous literary figure that resided in Hartford was Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Hartford not only has roots in the nation's history, but it's also known as the "Nation's Insurance Capitol".  Major companies such as Aetna, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Phoenix, and Travelers are headquartered here in Hartford!  Now, it's not only insurance companies that call this city home because United Technologies calls Hartford home as well!  In order to see a list of jobs posted in the Hartford Courant (Hartford's local paper), click on the following link: www.ctnow.com/classified/jobs or http://www.hartfordcountyjobs.com/

Even though there are historical monuments and a large presence of business in this one-of-a-kind city, the biggest asset is the people.  It truly is a diverse area which can be considered an ideal melting pot of cultures.  With restaurants varying from Irish to Afghan, Brazilian to Vietnamese you will always have an array of choices.  The bars and clubs of Hartford rock with live bands playing blues, jazz, and (of course) rock.  If you want to get a quick glimpse at Hartford's nightlife and restaurants, visit www.ctnow.com/dining.

If you're a thespian, and enjoy a good Broadway show, the Bushnell Center for Performing Arts and the Hartford Stage are the hotspots for you!  The Hartford Civic Center is also great for people who want to catch a live concert from today's most popular artists and bands.

Now, if you're a sports fanatic, the Civic Center transforms into the home of the Hartford Wolf Pack (hockey), and of course UConn Husky Basketball!  Rentschler Field is also located about 10 minutes from the center of Hartford, and is where the Division I UConn Husky's house their football team.  Hartford also has a home for the World Tennis Team (The Hartford FoxForce), rugby (Hartford Wanderers), and the nationally known Rock Cats (AA Easter League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins)!

As you can see, Hartford is a well-rounded city that awaits you!  If you need any help finding a real estate agent to help you in your travels, or are in need of financing options please feel free to call me (203-257-5279) or email me (Andrew_Scherer@Countrywide.com).  Thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing you here in Hartford!

Gotta love Hartford!  It really is a great city, and most of the places around it are awesome, too!  Great night life (for those people young enough), and great bands like you said!
