Ten Worst Retirement States

Occasionally you see the Top Ten Best Places to Live or Retire. I received an email from AARP from a January article indicating the Top Ten Worst places to retire. None were too surprising considering the criteria were cost of living, state fiscal status, or cold weather. I would have be shoveling snow in my 70s in the Upper Mid-West, for example. There is also a link to the Top Ten Best Places to Retire.

I live and work in one of the nice warm areas. It's 78 degrees right now. And of course no snow or ice. Yeech!

Tom,

My top ten requirements for a retirement place:

Proximity to good Food

Lots of sunshine

Lots of good Golf courses

Plenty of heat

No cold

Close to water, so I can ride my jet ski

Within driving distance of snow, so I can ride my snowmobile

Far enough away that the famly can't easily get to me

Close to a hospital

Close to good entertainment

Know any place that meets all the criteria?

Interesting list.  More interesting was looking at the areas considered the best.  Not many of those selection would meet my criteria of the best though.

Art,

SoCal is probably where you need to be.
