Molds or Moulds, in merry old England are a form of fungi which grow in multi cellular mats with hyphae (think tentacles, or antennae gone wild)  This is contrasted with Yeasts, which are single celled organisms.  Other fungi we may be familar with are mushrooms. Now, Fungi are, in sientific taxonomy, a kingdom unto itself (anyone hear of King Richards speech? "a horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse"?  What does this mean? This means that fungi are one of four main representatives of life, besides plants, animals and bacteria.

A single organism of fungus fruiting mushrooms has been found to be as big as a 1,665 foot ball fields big.  This comes out to 2,200 hundred acres.  Or another way to look at it is 3.5 miles wide.  The only surface hint to the existence of this fungus are the small golden mushrooms which pop out to the surface during the autumn rains.  Whoa, hard to believe is it not? Yes, the particular type of fungus, called Amillaria ostoyae, or the honey mushroom, was found in the Malheur National Forest in Eastern Oregon.

Fun side, lets take a quick look at the types of molds commonly exsisting.

We have your molds which are involved in food spoilage.  Then there are the nasty disease causing molds.  some are involved in biodegradation of organic materials.  Many molds help produce foods such as Limeberger Cheese, Penicilin, and fermented soy products-apergilus, beverages such as beer, sake, antibiotics, penicilin and enzymes.

Whoa, back up there.  Did I say disease causing molds? Yes sir.  Yes mam. These are the molds that Executive Restoration has to intricate knowledge of and seek to eradicate in your home, office, clinic, classroom, factory, garage, storage unit and anywhere a human or other animal just can't quite live together well without getting some kind of respirartory or skin problem, to name a few of the organs molds can affect.  Just last week we went out to a home where the family had skin problems which were a cause from the mold the doctor told the patient and wanted to get in an inspection company who deals with MOLD INSPECTIONS  to perform and take samples, to send off to the lab for testing.  Wa la, the mold did indeed and was causing the skin break outs,  for the family and their bodies were just covered with break outs.

These mold thrive with higher moisture levels.  Think humidity.   Or, leaky pipes or old water damage.  Animal urine or feces.  Unsealed basement, crawl spaces, broken foundations.  Food materials which have been lurking between that stove and counter tops for eons! What about old trunks filled with your dad's old army boots and combat gear from World War 2.

How many other places can we get MOLD?

1/ Washing Machines

2/ Dish Washers

3/ Crawl Spaces

4/ Clothes that are not properly dried

5/ Pressure washing the home and getting water into areas of the home that water is not wanted or welcome and then the water created Mold and this created a MOLD REMOVAL issue.

6/ Toilets tanks that have water in them, many times can create mold.  Make sure to keep the fresh water toilet tank flushed and cleaned by agitating the walls of the tank with soap and water and flushing it regularly.

7. Not cleaning out your gutters and down spouts and the water from the gutters can back up into the home into the walls of the inside of the home.  Keep your gutters cleaned out and keep the down spouts diverted away from the home as well as make sure there are no obstructions in the down spouts as well as gutters as well as down spout extensions to the house.

8/ Cars, where some one has left the car window or sun roof open and rain came in and they had water damage and then this created secondary damage and this could turn into a needed  MOLD REMOVAL if the car was not dried out and treated properly.

9. How about Mold in your refrigerator?  When was the last time, you cleaned your refrigerator or the Mold on the cheese?  I usually just cut the mold off and wash it and then consume it.  How about you?

Think, Mold gone Wild!  Think, Fungus gone Wild!

Snell Experts: The thing about molds is that they are ubiquitos, kind of hard to avoid and maybe some of them are beneficial?

You are correct when you state that some mold is good and some is bad.  In the mold world, there is what we call the good, the bad and the oh so ugly in the way that some of the homes are  in when we get to them to clean up the mold and take care of the source of the problem.

Thank you Matt and we would like you to be be one of our associates if that would be ok.  Indera, we would like you to be one of our associates as well.

Thank you,
