7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
If you have received mercy, then you should also show mercy towards others. This is an a call to action or a call to serve others. You see Jesus saved us not only from a certain death and a seperation from God for all of eternity. He saved us to DO something, that is to express His life through ours as we serve others and demonstrate His mercy.
How do we show mercy towards the world? It is to become involved in our communities, outside of the four walls of the church building. To show merciful acts of kindness to our neighbors, those who are in nursing homes, hospitals, crisis pregnacy centers, helping to feed the hungry, and clothing those without clothes due to a fire, or loss of jobs, etc.
One by one, we can make a difference in this world. People will never know how much we care or love Christ until they see the Love of Christ in action in our lives. Have you obtained mercy from God? Then we are commanded to show mercy towards others!
As we show acts of mercy and kindness in our daily walk of life, we can raise the banner of the cross and draw all men unto Him.
Faith that does nothing is useless. James 2:20
No mercy will be shown to those who show no mercy to others. James 2:13
Do what God's word says. Don't merely listen to it, or you will fool yourselves. James 1:22
