What I really like about this market is that it makes people think. When things don't happen people tend to think about things that will make it happen. That is what is going on right now. There is an explosion of ideas going on. Agents are trying to think of new ideas, better ways to do things, and new programs to make our jobs easier. Just read the articles on Activerain and you can feel the excitement going on in creating new ways to do things. I love the time we are living in. I have been in the business for 30 years and have never seen so many new ideas and programs being created. It is a very exciting time to be a Realtor.
Our market has changed dramatically over the last two years and we have changed along with it and have adjusted to the new ways of doing business. The technology that has become available over the last two years has been fantastic. Programs like Docusign, Creating CMA's on the MLS, iPhone technology, Listing book and many more have made our jobs easier and yet we have had to work harder for our buyers and sellers. We do far more for them than we did two years ago and deal with a mountain of paperwork. Buyers and sellers are getting better value for their dollars.
We have the ability today to thoroughly market a property and get the message out to the buyers. We can use the old stand byes of print advertising and flyers to advertise but now we add to that, the additional photos we can add in the MLS, the number of marketing companies like Realtor.com that buyers can check out homes on the Internet. We can announce our open houses on the MLS, and find the open houses on your iPhone with the GPS technology. The Internet has changed the way we do business and it will continue to change and technology will increase the effectiveness of our work.
