When I was little I was told I could not drink coffee because I was a child and would have to wait until I was grown up.  Once I got older I no longer wanted to drink coffee; but started drinking it when I needed to wake up in the morning.  Still my love for coffee had yet not blossomed into a need for coffee.

But today I find myself wanting to have coffee not only to wake up but as a social thing. I love taking my clients out to coffee at one of the local Starbucks!  Over a hot mug of coffee or a cool Frap we discuss the ins and outs of real estate or a particular home they may be looking at.

According to Coffee Search, in 1999 there were 108,000,000 American coffee drinkers who spent 9.2 million dollars in the retail sector and 8.7 million in the food service sector on coffee alone.  I know that I am not alone in carrying a mug of coffee from home or the local coffee shop to my job.  Lately it has gotten out of hand.  So I wasn't surprise when my boss approached me one day about my coffee addiction however, it wasn't about my drinking too much coffee...

Gently my boss told me that I really needed to do something with my desk mug collection. I nodded in agreement and said I realized I had a thing about coffee mugs.  Maybe I should join an anonymous group for coffee-holics and their mugs.

Mugs on a Desk

So now I have boxed all but four of my mugs...NO wait! Now I have boxed all but four mugs on my desk and the four that are in the dishwasher in the company's kitchen.

I NEED A BIGGER BOX

Funny.  I was told as a child that if I drank coffee, I wouldn't grow up!  But, my lovely grandmother used to give me milk with a spot of coffee in it and plenty of sugared doughnut holes to wash it down.  I did grow up....to almost 5' 2".  Not far enough, but when you start in life at 3 lbs., what can you expect?  Not bad......

Cute post Sussie! I, too, was not allowed to drink coffee as a kid (it was an adult drink...). I never did learn to drink it, but sometimes it really smells good!

Hi Sussie~  I wasn't allowed to drink coffee as a child either.  I love it now, but I do drink decaf!  It's funny, but I just went through the mugs I have and just donated a bunch of them!  I was running out of room!

Rose:  I just love coffee! I am really an addict!
