Horse Handlers Needed to Assist with Large Seizure

on the Missouri / Arkansas Border

The ASPCA is helping authorities with an ongoing cruelty seizure of 116 horses by the Fulton County Sheriff's Department near Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Volunteers from Kansas and Missouri that can travel to Mountain Home for 3 to 5 days at a time are being coordinated for the ASPCA.  Volunteers will be scheduled and emailed a volunteer guide and waiver forms which give detailed information about the response and reimbursement items.  The ASPCA is reimbursing for fuel, mileage, food, etc. and does provide hotel accommodations.

Currently, volunteers are being scheduled through the end of March, but may go into April. Work includes help with basic chores and horse handling for 116 horses.  Volunteers only need to take appropriate boots, gloves, clothing, etc. to work outside during their stay.

Volunteers must be over 18 years old and must be experienced working around horses.
