Students from the tax program at Mira Costa College are currently undergoing training for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program or VITA.
VITA program sponsored by the IRS, offers free tax help to low to moderate income (generally $48,000 and below) families who cannot prepare their own tax return. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organization receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country.
Student volunteers from Mira Costa College will be working at the North County Lifeline In Oceanside and Vista to assist in providing this free service.
