Anxious for spring flowers in Kentlands

We have a sunny afternoon in Montgomery County, Maryland. Work crews are abound in Kentlands as the spring fix up work begins to take place. Painters are working at our home. Spring begins on March 20th and most of us are very anxious to see flowers in the community.

These pictures were taken last May in Kentlands on one of my regular neighborhood walks.  Photographs by Roy Kelley.

Roy, you seem to be surrounded by areas with beautiful flowers.  I think you should do a post on some of your walking paths....they seem to be picturesque.

Good afternoon, Larry. Yes, we are surrounded by beautiful flowers in Kentlands. I enjoy photographing the flowers during my neighborhood walks. Spring will bring another bountiful supply of beautiful blooms. This picture was taken last May.

I love your pictures. Saw some beautiful ones at the home and garden show last week. They certainly make me long for spring.

Thanks, Bernadine. Many of us are ready to put away the snow shovels and enjoy the spring flowers.

Hi Roy - Amazing pictures as usual!  I can't wait to have flowers in my yard so I can try some of your photographing techniques!

Good evening Chris. Thanks for the compliments. If you can identify any special techniques that I use, please tell me about them. I do try to get decent lighting, wait for the wind to stop blowing the flowers around and try to get them within the screen.

Life is good when there are flowers to photograph!

Such beautiful pictures. I think those first two are passionflowers. We used to have a fence full of them back at the home we lived in in the late 1990s.

Glad you could visit, Jim. I enjoy taking the flower pictures. All of them are in my Facebook albums for those that wish to see more flower pictures.

Roy,

I know that you have those flowers trained so that when you and Dolores show up they just sit there and pose for you!   They are always picture perfect!!!  Thanks for sharing them with us!!!
