Way back when I was at Jacksonville, Alabama

I got to thinking back to my couple of years at Jacksonville State this morning when I was creating my Jacksonville, Alabama Real Estate page.  I still lived with my parents at the time in Anniston which was about 30 miles from campus and believe it or not I still walked to class.  Yep that's right I had to walk to class for about 3 weeks.

Well yes I did have to walk to class everyday but was not as bad as you might think, you see I was broke at the time and my alternator went out in my car,  So every night I would put the battery on charge so that I could make it to my buddies apartment near campus, then I would charge the battery all day and drive home that night.

However I still had to walk to all my classes and for those of you that have never been to Jacksonville my classes were spread out so I still ended up walking on average about 17 miles per day, which may not seem like much to you but for a 6'3 240 lbs guy at the time it wasn't fun, especially when it decided to rain.

If your a young guy or girl and deciding were you might go to College my vote is Jacksonville State University I had a great time and I still have people I meet there that I call a friend and If you want a really good humbling experience park your car and walk to class.

So if you ever start looking for Jacksonville, Al Homes for sale be sure to give me a call, Just don't ask be to walk the campus. I may need the exercise but I wouldn't make it, Just say-in.

Hi Barry, good luck with your Jacksonville page.  I grew up it that town, and it's a wonderful place to live, to raise a family, and go to college.  I left J'ville (they still call it) and went to Auburn, and ended up in Charleston, SC.  Best wishes, and great to see you on ActiveRain.
