Canton Ohio's A Great Place to Buy an Affordable Home!

Canton, Ohio is a great place to live.  You have the Pro Football Hall of Fame and are only a good-hour from the Lake and big-city life of Cleveland.  But far enough away that you can slip down into the Tuscarawas County country-side on a Sunday afternoon.

Well now there is another reason to consider living in Canton, Ohio. According to a study done by Coldwell Banker Systems, Canton ranks as the fourth most-affordable market in the nation with an average home value of $146,333.

Least Expensive

  1. Killeen, Texas - $136,725
  2. Minot, North Dakota - $139,033
  3. Arlington, Texas - $139,175
  4. Canton, Ohio - $146,333
  5. Muncie, Indiana - $150,000

Canton is an old industrial town of 80,000 residents. It has a lot of character and is one of those towns that you love to visit and spend some time in. However, beyond the Football Hall of Fame, a lot of the major attractions are actually outside of the city.

For example, Thurman Munson Stadium, former home of the Canton/Akron Indians (now the Akron Aeros), is located in an adjoining township and is about 10 minutes south of downtown.

The city is also known as the home of the U.S.'s 25th president, William McKinley.

There have been efforts recently to renovate downtown Canton and bring the community back to its former glory.
