Tech Safety Improvements For Your Home
When we think about improvements, bathrooms, kitchens, roof, new carpet, an addition all come to mind. In a recent article on PATCH
Casey says, "Every homeowner come home at least once or twice to realize they either have lost their keys or locked them inside. Schlage, a company specializing in locks and deadbolts for homes, has created a line of door locks that eliminate the need for keys".
"You replace your existing door lock with one of Schlage’s electronic door lock sets, which has a numerical pad built into the faceplate. When the lock set is first installed, the user will be asked to program his or her desired pass code. Once the pass code is set, the lock is ready.
Now, when you leave your keys on the kitchen table or on your desk back at the office and the door is locked, you can simply punch in your code and the door magically unlocks. They start at around $100."
Casey adds that "For homeowners that want added security, Lorex’s surveillance indoor/outdoor wireless cameras are a great solution. The company’s new cameras communicate wireless with your home computer to record audio and video. The units are made of durable metal and are very small, making them almost unnoticeable. One feature that makes these cameras a great buy is their night vision up to 46 feet, something useful for capturing burglars or activity in wooded and shaded areas. Four cameras can be linked simultaneously and displayed on multiple screens throughout the house."
