Stop Monkeying Around!

Hire a Buyer's Agent to Help You Find Your Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex Area Home Already!

Did you know that having your own representation when purchasing property in North Carolina does NOT cost you anything?

Are you aware that if you call the number on the sign you're getting the agent who the seller hired to represent them and NOT you?

Did you know that on-site agents in new construction neighborhoods represent the builder and, again, NOT you?

One of the biggest myths in Real Estate is that buyers will save money by going at it alone. That couldn't be further from the truth.

Having a buyer's agent can, and in many cases, will save you money.

You wouldn't perform surgery on yourself. Why would you risk making a mistake on what is sure to be one of the biggest investments you'll ever make?

Not sure who to call to help you find your new Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area home?

Call me! I'll give you the straight scoop on the home buying process.

And, you can begin that process right here:

Craig Rutman, your Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area Realtor is ready to help you find your new home!

Craig,

Nice monkey. They've progressed apparently from being at the end of an Organ Grinder's chain. That listing agent's phone number is nothing to monkey around with.

Bill - I can't stress those points enough Bill. Buyer clients need to know this. And if NAR isn't going to promote buyer agency, then it's up to us to do so.

Anita - See my reply to Bill just above this Anita. We need to start a campaign.

Larry & Sheila - I did see him! I even took a picture of him with the camera on my phone....

Michael - You are so right my friend. Buying a home is not monkey business. Some folks think they know how to monkey around with the system. But all too often they end up spending a lot more than they should have, or they end up with a home that is in need of repairs that a home inspection and a buyer's agent would have found and had corrected.

Nick - Don's just jealous that his borther made it to my blog and he didn't!!! But, like I said it to Don above, if he's got a pre-qual letter and he's ready to buy, I'll be his uncle!

Denise - What's up with NAR? Surely they must know that this is one of the biggest consumer misconceptions. If they're not going to say it, I AM!

Gay - OK, that just gets a big fat EWWWWW from me! Thanks for that visual Gay!

Richard - You're so right that the listing agent's phone number is nothing to monkey around with. On another note, I love those organ grinder monkeys! And these guys too....

Craig, I love the graphic of the monkey too; very clever.  It certainly gets the point across though.

Love the chimp graphic  it looks like he's doing a pretty good job driving the boat.  Good advice to buyers Craig, very concise, even a chimp could understand that!

20+ years ago buyer agency started. There are so many consumers that have no idea what it is and how important it is.

Not sure who is cuter? The monkey or you? lol :)

Laura - Nothing clever to add? Did I really stump the Laura?!!!

Vickie - All my posts, silly or not, do have a message to convey. Glad I made my point in this one. I was just monkeying around with the idea until I came up with this post!

Mary - So simple even a caveman chimp can figure out the message here!

Jackie - Well since he's an all natural monkey, and I'm just a Photoshopped version of myself, I'm going with the monkey being cuter!!!

Dorie - Thank you Dorie! I had some fun putting this one together. And, fear not. As long as I'm breathing, my mind won't stop. There's too much inside there just trying to get out....

Craig:

As a staunch believer in the theory of evolution - it is clear to me that home buyers who do not know enough to hire you as their buyer's agent have simply not evolved.

Craig, it's all true, when a buyer works with the number on the sign or in that staged office, they're throwing bananas out the window, and are likely to slip and get hurt on one of the discarded peels. They'll end up back in the trees with a lot of bad memories.

Right you are.  It takes a pretty savvy buyer to go it alone and go straight to the listing agent.  A good buyer's agent is critical for most buyers in today's market.

Dan - If they're savvy then they already know that having a buyer's agent doesn't cost them anything. They should also know that they won't save any money by going directly to the listing agent. And, if they're really savvy then they know that the listing agent works for the seller's best interests and NOT theirs.
