The College World Series has been played in Omaha for over 50 years with many games being played at the Rosenblat Stadium.

The CWS and baseball in general are steeped in tradition. So it is no surprise that, with Omaha working on details for a new ballpark and the NCAA giving it's blessing, some Omaha residents and college baseball fans are fighting to keep the series at Rosenblat.

I am not sure, however, that there is much chance of stopping the construction of a new ball park after hearing Mike Fahey's comment, "In my mind, we are moving down town". This coming after the approval from the NCAA to move the CWS to a new ballpark and down town Omaha.

I personally feel that this move will further increase the momentum and energy that Omaha is making to revitalize the area. With all that is been invested into the down town market in the last few years, the addition of a new ballpark can only help to speed the progress. In addition, the land that is occupied by and around Rosenblat would make a great addition to one of the nations top zoo's.
