Wow thats a great story! Thank You for sharing!
Great job and post...I'll be interested to read about your success stories !!
Hi Rosalie, Michael and Cory...I pray that I can stay involved and not let this be a fleeting donation and gift...and give you the success stories!
Very worthy project and not costly when spread among 6000 realtors. Great concept with having the homes be temporary and continually helping more and more new homeowners.
I love this! Keep us posted as the project develops.
What an awesome project! I agree that this is perfect for Realtors to get involved in!!! Way to go!!!
Cindy, I love the homes in this neighborhood. They deserve to be renovated and that neighborhood deserves a revlval. I LOVE that your Board is getting involved in such a practical way and taking a reasonable donation that will have far-reaching impact on your city for years to come. Bravo!
Sharon
Cindy- I know agents who board planes for Habitat. There are actual projects in their own back yard. Great job and congrats on the feature.
Cindy, that is so cool. You must be so proud of your local board. This is what real estate should be about. Great post.
What an aweome undertaking. I think we should undertake something similar.... but it would have to be on a much smaller scale. There are about 125 of us.
JoAnn..I agree on the numbers. Probably an 80/20 rule applies though.
Kim...will do.
Deborah...when I heard about this I thought how perfect to be involved.
Frank and Sharon...that it is a legacy makes it that much sweeter.
Hi Joe! I have done Habitat one time; great experience.
Tammie, it is a statement about real estate for sure.
Hi Tammy...only 125? Wow...how big is your market?
That is HUGE....and we need to spread the word to make this a model for every locality...great work ! Is this going to be a RED day function too ?
Hi Sally and David...good question; that should be our RED day function!
What a great post and how wonderful it must feel to be part of something that matters. I would hope that it wouldn't have taken the super bowl to motivate you....but I am glad that it did.
Cindy, what a wonderful idea. I believe we should look into taking on similar projects in our states. Good luck with the project - I hope all 6,000 Realtor make a donation.
Hi Navona...it does feel great to see our local board making a difference. I think they would have done something for their 100th birthday but the 32 is defintely Super Bowl related.
Hi Elizabeth, I hope they do too!
Hi Cindy,
Great project even better cause, nice to know there are a few real estate boards with a vision to go out of their way to actually make a difference where it counts.
Have a Pfanntastic week
Hi Cindy,
Great post! Thanks for the plug. As the 2012 Foundation President one of the things I and the entire Foundation Board of Directors constantly struggle with is getting the word out about the great things the Realtor Foundation does every year as well as about the Centennial Living Legacy Project.
You mentioned the 80/20 rule in your response to JoAnn. We would love to have 20% involvement from our membership. Unfortunately we only have about 5% of the MIBOR membership involved. And we welcome contributions from non-Realtors as well!
I invite you and your AR followers to visit the 2 websites about the Realtor Foundation and the Legacy Project to learn more. They are www.RealtorFoundation.org and www.MIBOR100.com.
Hi Pfanns! Our Board does have vision.
Justine and Bruce...I'm honored you stopped by! I put this on FB too...we need to tap into Social Media on this one.
