Every year at tax time I promise to never wait to the last minute to get it all put together for my accountant. My appointment with my accountant is today. So, guess what I've been doing for the last 2 days? Yep, organizing receipts (oh, and negotiating 2 contracts, don't want to forget that.)
I have tried excel spreadsheets, Quicken, yadda yadda, but it hasn't kept me from inputing much of the data at the last minute.
This year I replaced my old laptop and my new laptop with Windows 7 doesn't support my accounting program so I'm working off 2 laptops. We can no longer eat at our kitchen table. Taxes on the left and contract negotiation on the right (the desk just wasn't big enough).
So here's my resolution once again. I promise to reconcile my receipts every month....ok, every other month. At the very least quarterly. Even bi-annually will help, right?
How much you want to bet I'll be in the same position next year unless someone can offer me a really great strategy to alleviate my problem?
