Mindful Feng Shui Changes for your Home and Life by Feng Shui New York Long Island consultant

Other world, other way of thinking :)

Let us start with mirrors in the home. Depending on your intent for the use of Mirrors, they can be very powerful and stimulate the flow energy in any given space. You need to be mindful of what a mirror is reflecting and not to place to many mirrors in one area. This can create a feeling of energy "bouncing" around and not feeling stable. In the bed room, it's recommended not to have mirrors at all, with the exception of your closet. When the door is closed it becomes concealed.  If that is the case, still make sure the closet is organized.

Understanding your intentions for having a Feng Shui consultation and why it is that you are implementing changes to your home and/or business. No matter what method of Feng Shui you choose to employ, you need to understand what it is you intend to change about your lifestyle.  The more clear you are with your life's path and goals, the better the results.

Make changes one step at a time, even slight shifts in furniture, placement of objects, colors, plants, can all create change. Again, understanding your intentions and knowing why is key. Think of yourself as a painter. You have an idea and  paint that image on the canvas. Artist need to step back to see what they are creating and ask, is it flowing and working together, is my composition correct, does it make sense? Is it what I want to create? If you ever watched a painter work, or any artist, it's a natural movement to step back and see the whole picture.   It's a process and can take time, so patience is your best friend.

organize you life with feng Shui

Even when de cluttering, this is a process, take your time as not to get over whelmed

Be sure to include everyone into the household. It is a shared space so, if you have three people living together, make sure all three of you have say and take part in adding your positive influence into the home. Work together to "decorate" the space and infuse it with the energy of everyone, not just one or two people.

This can be hard to understand for some but, do not expect change to happen exactly the way you see fit. We all have life goals and can be very stubborn with how we expect life to treat us.  The universe works in mysterious way...or does it? It actually is already calculated for us. The universe delivers what you need when you are ready, to help you grow and prosper.  It's amazing, especially when you may be "down in the dumbs", how the Universe provides or sends messages of hope that keep you going strong.

We all need to start some place when studying Feng Shui. Books, DVD's and even blogs are a great source to start learning and expanding your knowledge about Feng Shui. Remember, the practice of Feng Shui goes beyond just "decorating" your space to make it feel good. It's a lifestyle, this meaning you include your body, mind, and spirit into all changes that you make utilizing Feng Shui. When you hit your peak on reading about Feng Shui and are not sure what other enhancements need to be done, it's a great idea to call in a Certified Feng Shui consultant ;)

Laura, Feng Shui is certainly more complex than it would appear to be at first glance. I totally agree that the universe does send us messages that we need when we need them, we just have to be able to see them. Too often our cluttered lives makes it difficult for us to be receptive to these signals, and we miss them.

Hello Laura and I agree some very interesting tips! Did you know that VB was in the glass industry for 30 years and I have cut over thousands & thousands of mirrors, and broken many ... "Do you think a person will have bad LUCK for 7 years if they break a mirror"?

Not when you in the glass industry ...

Laura, I think I'd pass, we don't have mirrors all around to look at ourselves and bounce energy. But I could use some other tips so keep them coming.

Laura,

I am fascinated with Feng Shui in the home. I am looking to get the designation for REALTORS but it's not in my area as of yet.

GOOD STUFF, THANKS!
