Group Feedback and Update: Positive Attitude for the Weary Soul

By
Real Estate Agent with Liberty Homes RS-#62825

Hey there members of the Positive Attitude for the Weary Soul Group! Since we last had the contest on What Kind of Legacy Will You Leave Behind?   I kept thinking towards the next contest.....what should the next topic be?

These types of contests (within a group) bring us to a closer understanding of what the group is about. To share positive ideas, feedback and things that happen in our lives that give us a sense of...the cup half full. Appreciating what we have...not what we have not. Looking at people for who they are...not what they are not.

I appreciate those who follow the guidelines and do not put in copy/paste articles, poems, and stuff from books as well as no advertising ....it keeps the group focused on our thinking and keeping those thoughts positive to produce a positive attitude...thus a positive behavior.

So with that said...wow. Here's the stats so far since the middle of June:

Founded: 06/18/07
Subscribers: 363
Posts: 1389

And....let's get some feedback going. What should the next topic be about for the next contest?

Thank you for all your support, your posts, your positive attitudes and keeping this a wonderful group to sit back on those "weary" days and chill.

Mahalo (thank you)

WooHoo Sally!

Sally - What about stories about how someone helped you in real estate?  Then we're still sticking to a real estate theme, and I think it's nice because you remember those who helped you, and maybe feel like doing the same for someone else!

I think there are some good 'silver lining' stories lurking that we could all share. I won't give mine away here because I want to use them for the contest if silver lining is used...whether sad or painful stories aren't so much fun to live through, there is good news, something learned, something every story tells at the end.

My word is cactus and I already know the what the silver lining would be for this stinker.

Maybe something along the lines of one of my latests blogs, Have you offered a helping hand lately?  I was truly a "weary soul" these past few weeks, and was absolutely lifted by the "Positive Attitude" of so many people helping without being asked to and without expecting anything in return.  Whether it was random acts of kindness, or going out of one's way to assist me, it was truly uplifting when I was down.

Sheron: You mean....like there's a silver lining (a good ending) to every story?

Jeannie: There's MANY helping hands here...believe me..that's how we all got off our behinds to continue writing.

Sally- Another contest :(   Can you set very clear boundaries for it, as I am never sure if what I post here even fits within the Group Boundaries, let alone a contest.......OK, if I had to choose a theme......for Positive Attitude.....maybe something about when everything seems to be going wrong.....and gear it to Attitude....how your attitude affected the outcome......just my 2 cents :) :)

But please tell us what we can and cannot write before we spend our time and energy for the contest :)

How about something about "how to keep a positive attitude when business is slow"?   I know I have days when the soul feels weary after getting nowhere in the business.  Or you could phrase it "how to keep a positive attitude when real estate hands you a downer" for those agents who get the short end of the real estate stick for some reason (deal fell through, client loss, etc).

Just some ideas!

Kathy:  This is only a post for ideas....don't worry....I am very specific. If you are ever unsure about what to post...ask. Otherwise, the group rules explain.

Jeff: My market is slower but not down. This might be good for turning a negative into a positive.

Sally-Because I'm so passionate about filling that heart with a good ol' dose of awwwww, I'm thinking in the lines of "Giving Back". We're moving into that time of year, Thanksgiving and Christmas where it's natural for people to want to give a little more. But I would like to see stories written on what people have done to fulfill that need throughout the year and how it has affected their lives both personally and professionally.  The person could have been the giver or the recipient of goodness.  We can all wait for a "heart attack" (the good, positive kind of course) or make one happen now.

Hey Sally,  I was thinking along the lines of Julie.  Write about how Real Estate Agents in your area are making a positive difference in the community.

Okay, how about this:     In 250 words or less...
I LOVE (insert heart shape) being a _____ (fill in the blanks - Realtor, lender, stager, etc.) because...

Include a recent "casual" photo of yourself (other than your profile photo) and one of the following:  a relevant logo, symbol or photo (state flower, favorite hobby, family, view from your window...) that adds visual interest and color to your post.

Winners based on the warm fuzzy feeling prospective buyers or sellers get from reading your story (in the eys of the judges), the attractiveness and readability of your post, and your positive attitude (for the weary soul, of course).  Bulleted lists and resumes will be disqualified.

The finished product might be good for the "about" page on your website, or a good handout with your listing package.

Julie:  This is a bunch of everything and I was hoping to get some ideas with the holidays approaching. Thanks!

Steph:  We'll all vote on it

Margaret: This is interesting and should be useful for a Localism style post as well. I think we need to combine the business and personal and this may be a good way to look at it...with the client's warm and fuzzy.

I love Margaret's. and I also love the idea of Jeff's.  I don't think it necessary has to be about a "slow market", but when a deal goes bad, or when you just don't feel like you're getting anywhere.  Those are my favorites I think.

Joslyn: I beginning to think that we all can come up with something together. I especially would like to consider maybe doing business around the holidays and trying to balance out family and business during this time. I know for me I manage to keep the balance as well as think about the client who wants to get into a home or sell a home and move and get settled before the holidays. BIG job there.

What do you all think?

I believe in Santa Clause because..........

I think I am only one a few that does believe in this. Santa Clause is a concept not a person any more, right? Something did get stuck in my chimney one year and whatever it was it had something red and white on it. A piece of red fabric trimmed in white fur was stuck on the flu. And I have heard a rusting in there on Christmas Eve. And as for the milk and cookies, well, there have been a lot of folks in the neighborhood that reported they had break ins at Christmas and strangely enough, only the milk and cookies were gone. Some even reported that there were strange boxes wrapped beautifully that the person breaking in left behind , probably by mistake.
