I watch the television in horror as the tragedy in Japan unfolds. I am horrified but cannot, nevertheless, turn off the news channels and their coverage. I feel helpless watching the suffering that no doubt, is just beginning. I worry about the nuclear power plants and the effect a melt down might cause around the globe. Watching tsunami waters barreling into our American harbors only reinforces how small the world really is.
I also wanted to mention what a great thing I think it is for AT&T to broadcast the Japanese TV channel on our U-Verse so that Japanese Americans can get information from a local source. Great job AT&T. It shows we all can help in our own way.
Despite feeling helpless, I know that there is one way to help. Give to the Salvation Army or Red Cross. Right now, cash is king. The money can be used as needed to help the Japanese people. Give what you can and keep the Japanese people in your thoughts and prayers.
