Prezi Presentations - Take Your Power Points to the Next Level

By
Education & Training with Retired Executive Director of Education at eXp Non-Licensed
Powerpoint presentations are still being used all across the Country at seminars, during webinars, and even at coffee tables with clients.  So what is the point of using a Powerpoint?  Is it just because it came with your Microsoft Office? Is it to keep us on point during our presentations?  Could it be the fancy transitions and cool custom effects?  Maybe it's to impress those we are sharing it with, or maybe it's all of the above?

If you like a great presentation, then you'll want to check out Prezi.com.

Prezi is a slick alternative for those who want to stay on track, impress their audience, and access their creations for download or to share them over the internet. No software is required.  No time is needed to learn.  No costs to use it.  No reason to not check it out.  I have a great presentation that John Robinson at Zillow put together using some of our tools and services, but first I want you see what Prezi is all about.

Take a look at this "Prezi"tation below, check it out yourself, and see how your next presentation could have the potential to really stand out and razzle-dazzle your audience or clients.  I can only imagine some of the listing presentations and community stuff some of you would create with this. If you find this another useful tool in your kit, and you create something astonishing, please share it here with others. Seeing some of the great creations already out there can really help others when it comes to designing and creating their own.

*TIP: Click "PLAY" then select the "MORE" option in the player, choose "autoplay" and "fullscreen" which make the presentation more fun to watch and less work having to click to advance each slide.

Here's a few other ideas on what some folks have done using Prezi. http://prezi.com/explore Enjoy.

Robert - I have been working on Prezi myself, but this one will take a while.  Gathering all the info, video, images etc. then putting it all together is fun but more time consuming than I realized.  The easy presentations go quick, but the one I'm doing will be a little more entailed. Hope to have it up soon....

Marti - You're too good to me, thanks!  Love those features~  :-)

This is a great tool.  I checked out a few examples and really liked the comparison of PowerPoint to a crime scene! Very funny.

Brad, this is a wonderful tool you've made available to us.  Thank you.  I just ran the tutorial and saw an overview of how the program works.  I've got a buyers sellers workshop coming up the end of the month and now I'm excited to make it as impressive as I can.  Thank you, once again, for another wonderful tool we can use through Prezi.

Brad

I use Powerpoint quite a bit but this sounds like a great alternative. I will definitely check it out. I like the notion of free, too. And the fact that you can embed them.

This is a great presentation tool and since it's free to use, everyone should at least give it a glance. Some of the samples I have already seen make me realize Prezi's potential. Unfortunately because of that, the creative perfectionist is coming out in me, and I can't seem to finish the one I recently started!?!  Has that ever happened to you?  lol~  :-)

BTW~

Now imagine doing an auto-play of a Prezi, record it using screencast.com, then add a narration...  some background music.. and you've got a rockin video for uploading to Youtube.  Just watch it go viral!!  hmmm....Aren't I such an optimist?  :-)
