"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28 This is one of my favorite verses, because it shows God is a very GOOD GOD and a very PURPOSEful GOD. So what does this have to do with real estate? :)
I was at a closing the other day, and ...Well, let me back up. I had noticed for two days a strange "thump, thump, thump" noise everytime I drove my car. The faster I went, the faster the thumping!! I checked my rear tires where the sound was coming from, and there was nothing wrong. It sounded like I had a piece of paper or something stuck on the wheel. Fast forward 48 hours, and I am at a closing for my sellers. Buyer and sellers really liked one another. Agent and I got along famously--a truly happy time! I came out from the closing, and then I saw it! A BOLT in my tire!! My tire had never been turned the right direction for me to see the bolt when parked previously!!
"Oh, my!! I need to get this fixed!" I thought. There just "happened" to be a Discount Tire Co. across the street from the title company! Woo hoo hoo was I thankful!! They said they would try to patch it, but because of the size of the bolt, I may have to get a new tire. I was just thankful I was not on the freeway with a flat tire. It had held its pressure for TWO days.
I took a seat, and the sweetest little boy, about five, was entertaining his baby sister who was sitting in a stroller. "You sure are a good big brother!!" I told him. He reminded me of my son at age five. He said, "I have THREE little sisters! The other two are in the bathroom with mommy." "Wow! Three sisters! How do you do it!? I guess you and Dad hang together, huh?" His mom soon came out, and we started chatting about her children (SO well-behaved and sweet), where they go to church, and I encouraged her about what a great job she is doing! I took a phone call from a client, and when finished she asked, "What do you do for a living?" I told her I am a realtor. She asked for my card, and said, "You never know when we might need a realtor!"
Well, just a few days later, she called to say she and her husband would be moving to the Dallas area, and they would like to use me as their realtor! So, I truly believe Romans 8:28. If it weren't for the bolt in my tire (and her flat), we would not have formed a friendship. Oh, and about the tire--they were able to patch it --for FREE. :)
All things truly DO work together for good to those who LOVE God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
