Don't Over Improve Your Home

Home Improvement Many homeowners in Hunterdon County NJ have decided to "stay put" for now. Rather than sell their Hunterdon County Home, they've decided to stay and remodel, while they wait for the real estate market to improve. If that's an option for you, it's probably a good idea. However, while waiting for the market to improve, don't over improve your home. Chances are, when you are ready to sell, even in an improved market, you may not get much of that money back.

Hi Vickie, I just had a listing appointment last Sunday where the young people lived in the home for the last 2 years while fixing it up and now want to put it on the market. Yes they did a great job on the outside with a new fence and new landscaping and re painted the house. Inside, they put in hardwood floors, top of the line appliances, new light fixture. Well they want $40,000 above anything that has sold in the last six month. Wish I knew them before they did all this work!
