It is that time of year again, thankfully, when you need to pick up your Cape May beach tags for the summer 2011 season. Every year there is a new design on the tag and because of this, it has grown into quite a collectible. I have been in homes for sale where they have displayed over 15 years worth of beach tags. It is moveable art once the season has come to an end.
This year the Cape May beach tag prices are:
- A daily beach tag is $5.00.
- A 3 day beach tag is $10.00.
- A Saturday to Saturday (weekly) beach tag is $13.00.
- A seasonal beach tag is $15.00 if you purchase it before the end of this month (March 31, 2011).
- If you purchase your seasonal beach tag after April 1st, it is $25.00.
Beach tags are to be used on the Cape May beaches from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They need to be worn by anyone over the age of 12.
If you need to purchase your beach tags, you can buy them during the season from the beach taggers at the entrance to the beaches or from the taggers patrolling. If you would like to purchase them early, which I recommend, stop by City Hall at 643 Washington Street and proceed to the Tax Office or call 609-884-9525. The Tax Office will also mail them to you for a few cents more.
Save yourself some money and buy your beach tags by the end of this month.
