"WHY YOU NEVER HEAR GOOD REAL ESTATE NEWS IN PRINT"

I've told countless people, the only the media gets to sell their product is if their headlines or lead story in something negative...if it's positive it's no good to them.  Case in point was in the St. Petersburg Times in Sept 2006...they had nothing but a negative story about how the real estate market was bad on the cover, while buried in the middle of the Sports Section was a 2 full page spread of all the sales in the county from the month of Aug 2006! Had they had that on the front page, they would not have sold their newspaper.  It is good to hear that a local TV station finally stated something positive about our market.  Get ready...I believe we are going to have a very good winter this year with our northern buyers coming in to buy this year! Stay positive and don't believe all the negative stuff you see and hear!

Does any good news really make the new broadcasts or print??  It's so rare it's treated like a joke when it happens.

The media thrives on bad news, murder, mayhem and misery.

 

I disagree--sort of. The media prints whatever sensational story it can get its hands on. When the housing market is going up the media reports on how hard it is to buy a home, when it's going down all they can do is story after story of the "bubble" bursting. So yes, the media seems to be always selling doom and gloom but when the market is going up, agents like the stories more...

Too bad the media always puts that negative swing on things! I guess they can't accept the fact that home sales are picking up again - wonder when the local media will finally make that discovery!!!
