Im new to Active Rain and love the concept. I need some quick-start links to get going, preferably video. Someone help.
Go to the official AR blog (you already have it as a preferred blog - look on the middle right of your AR home page) and start scrolling through the posts!
Well, first of all, you need to write more content to get points for your blog. I forget how many words now as I'm pretty verbose. I'm thinking it's 100 words, might be more.
You need to go to ActiveRain University for training.
The best advice is to read and post comments. Get the feeling of how to write a post. Then, write some posts with situations, good information, local information.
I don't know if you were invited by someone or just happened by. If you were invited, the person who invited you would be the best person to help you.
Good luck and welcome aboard.
Just start looking around... you get some points for that and learn where everything is by trial and error... it's fun.
Eric:
Welcome to the Rain....you're in the right place if you're looking for a supportive community that is informative, and lead generating at the same time. Learn the art of blogging and the AR google juice will have your phone ringing in no time.
First, you asked for a video. The one I know of is for the ActiveRain toolbar - here's the link; wish I would have found this right off the bat! Tara's got a great blog too...
Second, Craig Daniels. I've used tips from his blogs over and over. Just recently he reached 100 blogs posted, and made a quick/easy catalog blog - VERY USEFUL! 25 of them are tips for AR alone. Bookmark that one!
Third, ActiveRain University - a must. I spent 1 hour a day for 1 week learning everything I know about blogging here on AR, and more (SEO for example.) You'll love it; his name is Steven Graham. Here's the link to the schedule.
Lastly, (this is getting long), I'm going to email you some links that I received while taking the ActiveRain University classes - where to get free digital photos, how to download firefox & scribefire.....it'll all be there.
Again, welcome to the Rain Eric.
