This is one of the grand dams of the historic homes in Smithville.   With a Texas historical plaque, it was originally built around 1848 on the bluff overlooking the Colorado River, this home was moved to it's present location in town around 1880 by D.O. Hill.  Set on three city lots it is one of the largest residential lots in town.  The kitchen and second story were added after the house was moved by barge with the help of locals.  The beautiful wood floors thru out were recently "uncovered" and refinished.

There is a formal parlor, an informal library, master suite with sitting room, sun room, and full bath, large kitchen, and laundry on the main floor.  The second floor has three bedrooms and a bath.  The guest house has a living room, sitting room, bedroom, bath and efficiency kitchen.
