Valparaiso definately is the place in Porter County that is happening in real estate. The last quarter in 2010 showed that the median price of a home went from $173,000 to $179,000. That is great news, because it indicates that we may have hit the bottom. Many economists are predicting that 2011 will be a good year, but that 2012 should find the housing market back on track and headed back up.  Recently I was in Florida, so of course being a Realtor I stopped to talk to a few Realtors to inquire about their market. The prices looked very low. They also have seen an upturn in certain areas of Florida. That means the babyboomers should start packin. Great time to start planning their furture lives in warmer climates again.
