Spring is here and when the snow melts it might cause some water damage to your property. Water damage can be costly so take a few precautions.
While showing one of my listings to a potential Buyer, a beautiful side split with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms located in Casselman, On., I discovered that there was some water seepage behind the furnace. OH! OH!
I immediately called the Seller and she called in her handyman and it was discovered that the downspout was blocked and water was melting off the roof and draining along the foundation. The handyman removed the ice and then added an extension to ensure that the water was flowng away from the house.
Also, check your insurance policy to ensure that you are covered for flooding and seepage.·
