Has anyone noticed lately the increase in agents that have become too lazy to write directions to their listings in the MLS? In the box where we usually write " Take 7 west, to 9 west, to a right on 287N, to left on Nixon Rd to 999 Nixon." That has becaome just too difficult for many agents. Instead, they just write " GPS". That's it. So if you don't have a gPD or you live in areas like we do where many GPS systems don't work, or give wrong info, you have to hope you have your ADC map with you. Buyers calls me and asked me to meet them at an address I'm not familiar with, they saw house they we're attracted to. I print out the listing, and head out to meet them. 10 minutes down the road I look for directions, and you guessed it, it's says GPS. Well, I don't have a friggin GPS, so I start looking to see if my ADC map is in the car. Nope. Damn! Well, I know the town, just never heard of the street. I could call buyer and ask them to help with directions, but they might think I'm an idiot. ( Yes, it ws my fault for not looking at directions before leaving the house). Ok, now I will have to stop at a 7/11 and look at ADC map, and hopefully not have to buy another one. (What ever happened to those little Pathfinder books agents use to use)? Second annoying item, on the listing where agents are suppose to enter the ADC map #s, agent has enetered XY99, or 0000, etc. So now I need to scan the index for the road name in order to get the correct map page. Yep, you guessed it, there are 4 different #s, because the road starts on the edge of one page, then joins on another page, and so on. " Joins Map 5299", etc. GRRRRRRRRRRR.................
Note to lazy agents: Not everyone has a GPS system or smart phone, and even if they do, GPS systems don't always work in mountainous areas, and they also give very wrong directions a lot of times. So write the friggin directions to your listing in the MLS, and look up the map coordinates on your ADC map and enter those in the MLS as well. How hard is that? Map 4802K1, (damn that just gave me writers cramp spending 2 seconds hitting 6 keys on my keyboard). Those ASDC maps are up to $15.00, and I don't want to have to buy another one if I don't have to.
