The Douglas County School District has 4 high schools located in Highlands Ranch, and ThunderRidge High School is one of them.
Colorado is an open enrollment state, and once a year Colorado residents have the opportunity to enroll their children at any public school if there is room. However some schools are at or near capacity, and living within the school's geographic boundaries can sometimes be the only or best way to be certain of enrollment.
ThunderRidge High School serves students on the west and south west side of Highlands Ranch but also into the south parts of Littleton such as Chatfield Estates, Roxborough and Arrowhead.
