When you live in a super place all your life, it is easy to figure it must be this way everywhere.

But summit county colorado ski areassometimes it takes a person who has not had it so good to point out the things in Maine you take for granted.

I love the wide open spaces, the lack of crime, the low cost Maine real estate prices and friendly down to earth people.

But often someone that has lived in the city too long points out what seems to be the obvious.

"Your sky is so blue." "Look at all the thousands and thousands of nightly stars".

No pollution of air or the sky with too many lights is the simple reason. Less people, less problems. Pretty simple.

Traveling helps you realize how lucky you have it. Heading to Vail Colorado's ski area with two sons on a buffet of skiing for a little break, perspective from living, working, playing in Maine.

You've sold me on the idea. I will get to Maine before I die. That's a promise.

Andrew,

Maine always has and always will hold a very special place in my heart. I fell in love with the State of Maine when I lived there working seasonal employment many years ago. You are absolutely right about the stars! And I found that the people were great too. I also discovered that a true Mainer is one that loves their home so much, they would never want to leave. There are so many wonderful places to visit in Maine.

I left my heart in Maine and I get there whenever I can.

Patricia

You are rigtht Andrew, I used to think you could reach up and touch those stars, they seem so close, especially from Cadillac Mountain.

Glenn ... there are so many neat places, super people to meet before we take our last breath. Maine should be in the bucket list though. I'm just saying.

Pat ... we sing in the same choir.

Rene ... you know what I am saying. Colorado skiing is pretty awesome too. Sample them all.

Jeff... I have had folks say SSShhhh, keep it a secret. I can not tell a lie. Never chopped down a cherry tree but Maine is big enough for a few more good people.

Pat ... when I go am at a lake home at night especially in the winter, the sky is on fire with sparkle, gems. Soomething you miss with yard ights, city lights. Its up there, just not visible. Alex at GW for last semester in your neck of the woods says he misses the stars most.
