Finally, A Day Off! Aahhhh. It's Sunday and I don't have any appointments. I don't have any clients to show homes to and I am not taking any listings today. Why is it such a big deal, because I've been working my tail off. In fact, I have been asking others in my office if they've been busy and their answer, YES! I asked the Office Admin person if she has been busy and her answer, YES! I asked the New Sales Recruiter if he's been busy and his answer, YES! His comment, we've opened over 800 new files since March 1st. Mind you our office has about 250 agents and his comment was a week ago!

I have a feeling that we are going to be seeing sales numbers pick up, but maybe that's just in our area. Hopefully, we'll all see some increased sales volume and every headline will read, "Housing sales are Booming!" Is this happening in your area?

Our single family listings are 25,777 in all of Maricopa County (Phoenix area). Our pending and short sale pendings are 17,376, and we've sold 19,127 in the last 90 days. Over all listings are down and sales are picking up. Great news!

Hi Jan: First of all, the day is not over with yet! And, yes, we have seen "pendings" pick up quite a bit. Unfortunately they are almost all very low end properties. Still, it means there are people buying out there.

The market really does seem to be picking up this past month. But the truth of the matter is, we DESERVE a day off. While there seems to be more and more business, it seems to be more and more difficult, daily changing rules and laws and information is keeping us on our toes, and I ALWAYS try to take Sundays off. My rule has become, "If you are sitting in a hotel room homeless, I'll show you houses on Sunday. Otherwise, you have six days a week, 12 hours per day of my time. I get Sundays." :) Enjoy your day!!!!

No question real estate is a balancing act. I'm especially glad to hear things are going well in Scottsdale as we are so closely related, market-wise. Busy here too, need to to step back and take another look, been watching the dailies but need to look at this month's vs last year. Hopefully, I'll be pleasantly surprised!

Beth - Hopefully, you have access as we do in Maricopa County to the Cromford Report. Such a wealth of information. You can access it from the MLS or type in CromfordReport.com and input the zip, etc for your area. Very well put together and scrubbed data! Thanks for your comments and best of luck to you!
