                                          Spring Today!!

Flower

So today was the official start of spring.  It was a day full of sunshine; but just when I thought things were looking up I had to listen to the weather forecast and wouldn't you know it there is talk of a bit of snow tomorrow and maybe on Wednesday.

Should I really be surprised? not really this is the month of March which can be so unpredictable.

Lanre I too was hoping this cold weather was behind us, I am hoping it won't linger until the end of May :)

Have a great week.

Hi Tiffany I love taking photos it is a relaxing hobby.  I wish I could be in DC to see your lovely cherry blossoms.

Jennifer:  What gorgeous flowers.  The first day of Spring, often called the Vernal Equinox.  The word equinox comes from the words equal and night... and today is one of two days in the year when the amount of sunlight and darkness are equal.  From today onward... the days get longer and the nights get shorter until the first day of Summer... the Summer Solstice, which is approximately June 21, when the amount of sunlight is the longest.  Ahhh... that former teacher in me.  Some nights she just can't resist.  < dorky smile >

Jennifer, I didn't realize today was the first day of spring. I'm not surprised, because the weather was glorious here in the Houston area today - very pleasant, not humid, and crystal blue skies. Lovely picture!

It was a gorgeous day here in Seattle.  There was talk of snow a few days ago, but I was happy to see that it didn't materalize.

I'm not listening to the weather, Jennifer. Took a bike ride to day and marveled at the beauty of the blossoming trees.

Jennifer, I love the photo.  I'm SO looking forward to spring blooms.  Sorry you're supporsed to get more of that white stuff, but you know that at this time of the year, it will be short lived and just gives water to the blooms.

Jennifer, it's not looking too Springy in Norhtern CA either or Phoenix for that matter.  Flying home today from cloudy Phoenix to rainy El Dorado Hills.  Definitely dampens my mood!  Love your picture with the beautiful Zinnias though!!!

Jennifer, yep we were all fooled by all the nice warm weather last week.  More white stuff today, good thing it did not stick.

Jennifer, I'm in NYC visiting my daughter right now and what's with your weather.  We did our outdoor stuff today as it looks like snow tomorrow.  I left 80 degree temperatures for 40 degrees.  The things we do for our kids (lol).

Nice to see some bright spring colors. Our weather here has been pretty inconsistent too. 70s and 80s a week ago, now back into the low 60s, but it's nice to see everything greening up!

Hi Jennifer.  I recall that when I lived in Maryland, our biggest snows were typically in March.  Enjoy, it should be the last until next Winter.

Aloha!
