If you're like me, as soon as the weather starts getting warm and the flowers begin to bloom, I get this itch to be outside. Sitting in an office continues to get more and more like being in a prison. The spring weather is calling my name and I can't get to it. If I wait, it will surely turn into the sweltering summer weather that I know all too well. Since we can't all live a vacation-style life, there are some solutions to satisfy the urge to be out in the weather rather than at a desk. First, use your time wisely. In the morning go for a brisk jog. At lunch time, choose the outdoor seating at a restaurant or have a picnic. Before you leave for work in the morning or the night before, throw some food in the crock pot or do the prep work so that when you get home you can spend your time doing things you want to be doing rather than making dinner. One of my favorite things about spring is the time change. I love that all of the sudden it feels like hours are added to every day with sun out longer. Evening time is filled with walks instead of sitting inside. I just love it. My charge to you is to go and enjoy the day, despite your working life. You've only got one life, and spring weather is as fleeting as spring break vacations!
