Spring Renewal, How Bright Will Your Spring be This Year?

For this year's Spring Renewal contest, I have a question for you.  Spring renewal brings new plants from seedsSpring Renewal is here; how bright will your Spring be this Year?

As I was thinking about spring, I reflected on just what spring means in nature and what parallel can be drawn to our real estate business.

Spring is associated with green leaves and abundant blooms of all the plants in nature.  But it is also the promise of a plentiful summer and fall harvest of fruit to consume and seeds for the next season.  Many plants hibernate during the winter, at least on the surface; but it during winter that roots spread under the ground and give a stable base for the plant to absorb nutrients and withstand the surface weather that blows and buffets the plant and its new growth.

As we begin the spring season, I decided to consider these new ideas for a spring renewal.

1.  Spring growth and color and amount of blooms and fruit are often an indicator of how well things were done prior to the beginning of spring.  I will use this season to measure my efforts during the past summer and winter in these areas and adjust  where I need to:

          a.  How well did I fertilized the "roots of my business" by developing my sphere of influence and putting in place follow-up techniques to stay in touch with this sphere?

         b.  How well did I "grow" roots by working listing leads over the winter such as FSBO's and Expireds and other leads to have in place a solid base of listings to enter the spring season.

2.  Spring growth is influenced by the consistency of temperatures and water.  Abnormal and irratic patterns such as a freeze late in the spring will stunt and kill any growth that has begun.  I will be sure to set in place this year a daily schedule that will maintain my consistencyand keep a steady amount of phone calls, warm market newsletter, subdivision contacts, etc. that will keep the spring growth going thru spring and summer and into next winter.

Water lillies in bloom3.  Spring renewal always means new things:  new growth, new colors, new babies in the animal kingdom, new fruit.  I will develop my knowledge and incorporate new ways of reaching my customers thru Social Media.  I will develop a consistent, integrated plan to use all these new techniques in my real estate business.  I will take a course in this area to increase my knowledge.  I will not give up all the tried and successful past ways, but will remodel those tried and true ways using new techniques.  This will include mastering and incorporating video into my website and listings and blogs.

Spring is an exciting and joyful time.  This spring I will incorporate these new ideas in my business to create a sense of Spring Renewal.
