Since the dawn of the real estate brokering industry real estate agents have wanted to get paid top dollar and sellers want to pay as little as possible when a selling a home. Sellers and agents have the same goal with two different perspectives on how this should be done and how much it should cost to achieve this goal. It has been my experience in life that if you want the best service available you have to be willing to pay the price for it. As a real estate professional it has become clear that the current commission structure is under attack. Sellers and Buyers have more options at their disposal to receive a rebate or pay a reduced commission when selling their home. In business I think choice is good and if a buyer or seller wants to get their hands dirty to save a little bit of cheese, I’m all for it. At this stage of the game it is up to brokers and agents to show consumers how they add value to the home selling and buying process. If we all do our jobs as real estate professionals, consumers will see the value and spread the word about our services.
In developing MungoList my goal was to create a system that connects sellers and brokers in a way that empowers and encourages real estate professionals to enlighten sellers on what we bring to the home selling process. I also wanted to incentivize brokers and agents efforts by enabling them to be paid more for adding more value. The MungoList system walks the fine line of allowing homeowners to sell their homes for less while allowing brokers and agent to be compensated based on how effectively they assist the seller throughout the transaction. The MungoList handbook will provide tips and strategies on how brokers and agents can get the most out of MungoList. It is difficult to bridge the gap between opposing views on how to achieve the same goal, but it is not impossible. Napoleon Hill’s law of economics states “you cannot get without giving” and that the only way to be successful in business is “by rendering useful service”. MungoList was designed with this in mind and will greatly reward the brokers and agents that provide the most useful assistance to clients.
