Real Estate Photography

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential CT Realty

So with an upcoming Milford CT real estate listing, my son has put together his Nikon DSLR to use, and the pictures are looking pretty good so far. However, this is the first time he's taken pictures for a listing with his new photography setup, compared to the barebones point and shoot we used before. He's been experimenting with on and off camera flashes, as well as a little bit of HDR (high dynamic range) photography in order to get all the details inside and outside these Milford CT homes for sale.

Does anyone have any suggestions on sites or reading materials for real estate photography? I've found a few great tutorials and blog posts here, but I was just wondering if any of you know of more indepth materials.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Lydia... congratulations on wanting to learn more, or to have your son learn more.  The absolute best material available is photographyforrealestate.net, and the companion www.flickr.com/groups/photographyforrealestate .  For off-camera flash use, especially useful is Scott Hargis' ebook photographyforrealestate.net\lighting.

Cheers, Scott

Scott, thank you for the heads up! My son said he was already looking at both photographyforrealestate.net and its flickr group, in addition to that off camera flash eBook, and because of your recommendation, he'll be picking that eBook up :)

Tom, I'll definitely use the search bar more. Thanks for the tip! I always seem to overlook it.
