Is the AT&T - T-Mobile deal a good deal for T-Mobile customers? I say NO. Just look at the data plans for a start... T-Mobile is only $30.00 a month for 4G unlimited data which includes the “HOTSPOT” AT&T same plan cost $45 per month (this gives you 4GB in total, combining both your smartphone data plan for $25 and the tethering feature, $20). And from what I understand, this is NOT an unlimited plan. I say it will raise every T-Mobile customers bill and they will be going from GREAT customer service to a non existent customer service. I read something this morning that I may be made to buy a new phone because the to companies work on different systems, CDMA vs GSM... I have no clue which one is the best, but I can tell you the phones of each system will not work with the other system.
I am sure the “Coverage Area” will have a larger footprint, but I am not sure if I will have better coverage than that of T-Mobile. I have found T-Mobile’s footprint in the Houston TX market to be much better than that of AT&T... I have an iPad and used the 3G service with it before I bought the MyTouch with hotspot. I used to look at the bars of each and compare the two... In Houston at least, T-Mobile held it’s own...
Don’t get me wrong, I think the merger is a great deal for both companies. I just think the T-Mobile customer is going to get the short end of the stick in the deal... Bigger is not always better when it comes to some things...
I know I will be looking hard at Sprint and the EVO now... But for the time being, I will stay with a phone I have come to love, MyTouch 4G, from T-Mobile and HTC...
