There is no doubt that we're in business, therefore there will be competition. That's the way it should work. However, the way some people run things needs desperate improvement.

It's one thing to try to build yourself up, work hard long hours to bring yourself to the next level. That's the "American dream" many of us were raised on. It's quite another issue to look for fault in others simply to speed your scurry to the top. This is not only bad business, but shows horrible personality to do be so underhanded. It also shows lack of creativity to be dealing in this way.

These types of negative folks should be concentrating on elevating themselves and their fellow man, instead of simply the former. Continually acting in the negative way is not only unappreciated, but also self-depreciating as well.

It all comes back to you in the end, if not sooner.

Sounds like you were "done wrong"

Is this something you wanted to get off your chest or just a general observation on the dark side of human interaction?

Can't deny what you say! But there will be some that will take that other route.

Good post. This concept is a good one. One should not do to others what one would not want done to self. But with some people, this "golden rule" will never register.

The image of the successful American businessman as ruthless is based on all too frequent fact. To them, success is a free-for-all, "take no prisoners," competition. You and I share different ideals. We believe in the importance of ethics.

Victor -- I'm not nursing any personal wounds, but remarking on a disturbing trend I've noticed here on AR. I hope such behavior ends soon. And it is a family reunion of sorts, but real estate associates are welcome. =).

Marc -- Yes, there definitely will be. But having such people around only makes the rest of us shine.

Derrick -- The golden rule is based on perception. Unfortunately, some folks feel it's okay to treat others badly because they don't care what happens to themselves. That should be taken into account as well.

Rosario -- Hopefully our ethical ideals will be the common practice among our associates. It was, afterall, a mainstay to becoming a real estate professsional.

Ok.. thanks for clarifying that...... I have now gone over what you wrote in a new light and I can see where your comment hits the mark.

I usually try to spin my remarks about a post into a positive.

The only time i may give a negative is when someone asks for opinions/comments regarding something they did. Then, look out, because I usually take the position of the devil's advocate. I try to keep it on the constructive criticism level.

There are some here though, whose heads do not fit through the doorway.

Victor -- I definitely know what you mean. My criticism is usually constructive as well, because I would prefer everyone to reach a higher, more productive plane. =).

Barbara-Jo and Bill -- Thanks. I'm sure most of us have experienced something like this...
