Merchant Meeting 

Wednesday March 23, 8-9 am at Silverton Inn & Suites. Glenn Barker is the leader for the month of March. Our speaker is Darrel Brown of the Silverton Elks.

After Hours at The Gathering Spot
Thursday March 24 - Anna Kuzmin & staff will host Chamber After Hours at The Gathering Spot, 106 N First St. from 5:30 until 7:00 pm. Stop by and welcome this new restaurant to the Silverton community.

Ladies Night Out
Don’t wait to get your tickets for Ladies Night Out “Spring in Wonderland” set for Friday, April 8, 7-10 pm in the Oregon Garden Pavilion. Our talented LNO committee has many unique surprises for this year’s event and you won’t want to miss out! Tickets are $35 per person & are available at the Silverton Chamber and Willamette Valley Bank. Tickets will be $40 at the door. Must be 21 to attend.

Silverton Fitness Hosts “Final Fridays"
Friday March 25th Silverton Fitness is hosting a special two hour Zumba fitness class from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Sign-ups start March 15 and space is limited. Cost is $10 and all money goes to the Silverton Hospital Fun Run. This is the first of our new monthly “Final Friday” events, special events and fundraisers on the final Friday of each month.

St. Paul Church First Annual Crab Feed & Auction
Saturday, March 26th 4:30 pm at 1410 Pine St., Silverton – All you can eat fresh Dungeness crab! Tickets are $35 per person or $280 for a table of 8 and are available now. To order tickets or for more details call 503-873-2044 (M-F 8 am to 4 pm). All proceeds from this event help to fund much needed renovations, remodeling or new construction for our church.

COMING EVENTS:

Celebration of Cultures

The 2011 Silverton Area Celebration of Cultures event is scheduled for April 1, 6 - 9 pm. Downtown Silverton will come alive with music, art, dance, food and other activities. 700 to 1,000 people have attended the festivities in previous years, even despite monsoon-like weather. The event is sponsored by Silverton Together, Silverton Chamber of Commerce, Silverton Art Association, and several other groups.

Silverton Together will be in the Gathering Spot restaurant providing face painting, along with the following partners:
Sheldon Traver Photography: Free Family Photos (before or after the face-painting - your choice!)
Marion County Children & Families Commission's Reading for All Program: Free books
OCDC Head Start: Crafts and activities
Momaroo's, Indoor Park, and many other great organizations will also be joining us.
Plus, we are sure that the food at the Gathering Spot will be incredible!

First Friday at Lunaria Gallery
In honor of Silverton Together’s “Celebration of Cultures” event, Lunaria Gallery will be presenting member’s work focusing on different cultures. Enjoy Silverton’s diverse community & support this important event.

New show for April features Rachael A. Warren-Allen’s show “Animal Antics”. In honor of First Friday falling on April Fool’s Day Warren-Allen chose her subjects for their expressions and actions. She focused on those individuals that inspire laughter, amusement, and “warm fuzzies” as she continues her celebration of the animal kingdom.

Sharing the spotlight for April is the jewelry of Chelsea Goin. Goin’s pieces bary from large, elaborate, statement pieces to sophisticated,, subdued morsels. She emphasizes great desigh, elegance, sparkle and sheen.

Silverton Arts Association Presents: Kids Art Show & Gallery Reception
Please join Silverton Arts Association at the First Friday opening reception of the Kids Art Show in Borland Gallery on Friday April 1st from 6 - 9 pm or visit the gallery between April 2 & 25 during gallery hours Saturdays & Sundays from 12:00 – 4:00 pm or Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am – 4 pm to help celebrate the outstanding artwork of the greater Silverton area’s most creative kids.

Silverton Wine & Jazz Festival is Looking for a few GOOD Volunteers!

Silverton Together 

Silverton Together is looking for first time parents. We are offering a ten session bi-weekly class for parents of babies 0-3 months beginning on Monday, March 28th. These programs are an excellent way for first time parents to network with others going through similar experiences while gaining valuable information about what to expect in the near future. Silverton Arts Association
Call for entries: Submit photos of your favorite pets for the 1st annual pet photo contest to benefit the educational programs of the SAA. 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes will be awarded in 4 categories by age, in addition to “People’s Choice”, “Cutest/Funniest”, and “Silverton Pet Parade” (photo taken at the pet parade). Pet photos will be exhibited in a downtown Silverton business/es for the month of May. For $5 you can submit up to 3, 4x6 photos. (Add’l photos can be submitted for an additional fee.)
