You may already know that I take a daily walks with my wife
(see http://activerain.com/blogsview/204880/MeMe-OK-I-feel )

This is a picture of one of our favorite places to walk (just a couple minutes from our home). Not sure you get the real idea of how peaceful this area is? Today we started to see some leaves falling as we are getting cooler weather!

There is a lot to see on these walks! Sometimes we see other walkers and runners (several friend and neighbors) from around Charlottesviile's surrounding areas.

There is a lot of wild life, squirrels, birds and deer.

Occasionally we hear the horn of local Fox Hunters. Then the dogs run by us followed by the riders on horse back. It goes from quite to extremely active.

One of the nice things we see on our walks is some of the most beautiful estates in our county with Blue ridge Views! (see photo).

Yes, that is the barn, the main home is over the hill....

When we are out touring the area looking for that perfect home for you, remind me to show you this slice of Virginia! It is worth the trip!

Charles, looks like some great scenery.  Unfortunately to take a walk like that, we have to take a drive first.  Here in Northern Virginia there are some walks that are quite nice, like along the Potomac River and in some beautiful parks.  We have a great 40 acre park near us with a man-made lake and some nice streams, but nothing beats truly getting out into nature like you do with your wife.

I love the Blue Ridge - we really don't have anything approaching this kind of natural beauty in Florida - we do of course have wonderful beaches and some very nice springs and state parks, but nothing quite like this.

I get to walk on a regular basis in a wildlife refuge bordered by the Occoquan River.  We have all the usual wildlife and the added bald eagles, osprey and blue heron.  I do miss my weekend home in the Shenandoah Valley at this time of the year when the leaves start to change.

Charles, Those pictures are just gorgeous!  I am from back east and it is a whole differnt scenery than the west.  I have visited most of the east coast and now am working on the west coast.  Both are beautiful in their own way.  It is great to be able to see all the different sights in the US.

Hi Charles, beautiful scenery!  Since my job is real estate :-) I just have to know how much the estate with the barn (nice enough to be a house) might sell for and how much land would be included?  Don't suppose you have a picture of the main house, do you?  It's so different from what we have in Central Florida.  Have a great Sunday.

MELISSA - I am working on it partner!

GAIL - I tried not to give to much information on that Estate for the privacy of the owners. The fact is there are several Estates on this walk. To give you an idea of size, I heard they have a full time staff of 37 people to run the property. As far as price, these usually sell before going to the public, or they are handed down from generation to generation. Believe it or not I just heard the foxhound horn out my window and my wife is calling me to go for a walk! I am off......

Charles,  I don't know how I missed your post earlier.  We have great walking memories.  My husband now has walking difficulty so we confine our walking to short ones - he has even had to give up the treadmill at the gym, Karen www.e-virginiarealestate.com
