I suppose it is not the one thing that we do to be successful, it is the many small things that we do day in and day out that make us successful on a GREAT scale.

When you are looking for that "secret".  That one thing that you think your competition is doing, and that is why that is why they are more successful than you, you are making a mistake.  I am not sure if we will ever know "everything" that our competition is doing.  Barring you slipping them a Mickey Finn and getting it all out of them...

The one thing that they are probably not doing is thinking about what you are doing...  That is why they can move farther, faster, and more efficiently toward being higher ranked.

I give very little thought to the "other guy".  I want to move forward with as little "visible" effort as possible.  I want others to wonder how I can appear so relaxed and confident.  I guess I am naturally a happy person, not "drugged" happy, but a person that always see's the glass as half full.

That is something that you are either born with or you are not.  Being an optimist is also something that you can teach yourself.  But you must remember that every time you choose to look in the rear view mirror and choose to have a glimpse at your past regret, you have pushed yourself backward.  Everyone has a hidden pain, a secret pain, (taken from Star Trek).

It is how you deal with your personal and "hidden pain" that will make you successful.

Connor here's an observation I've made.

I was at a RE seminar with hundreds of realtors eager to learn new things and become better RE professionals.  The speaker was great, the seminar content (most of it) was good, there was clearly some good learning going on for all.

So how many people do you think actually put the material they heard into action??  Probably less than 10%.

My point who cares what the competition is doing.   Be aware of them simply from a cutting edge point of view, but otherwise forget about and focus on you and your activity.   If you're one of the 10% that put things into action then your 90% ahead of the competion.

This business is all about You...

The competition seems to be doing what the competition has always done. I find I have to look far and wide (AR helps) to move forward.

The hardest part is getting started on something ... After that, it's a cake walk. You can deal much better once you're working towards it.
