Look, we all have our little places where we go to for our treats. I have a confession to make. I have an over fondness for fresh, tasty, sushi. That is my problem and I admit it freely. My solution to my problem exceeded my expectations as I found the best Sushi place just 5 minutes from my home.
Cabin sushi is not much to look at from the outside. It is located on a small, narrow street adjacent to City Hall. Those that frequent the area know all the good places to go. This is one of those places. The excitement starts from when you park your car and then builds steadily until you reach the front door
You enter and of course you are greeted. You are supposed to wait to be seated, but since I go there twice a week or more for business and pleasure, I just walk in and sit where I want. You see I have been going there for 2-3 years now. I am a regular and we love to see each other when we do.
They have an all you can eat for about $18.00 per person. You can easily pack away $100 worth of food. In the beginning, you have to know how to order and what is premium and good. I coach many first timers who frequent the place. Yes, I spot them and speak up. They always thank me.
For the less daring, there is the usual specials and very affrodable complete luncheons or dinners. Here is my typical order...2 rainbow rolls, 2 spider rolls and 2 crunch rolls, 2 orders vegetable tempura, 2 orders fresh calamari, 3 orders of mussels, 1 order fish eggs, various pickle goodies, 1 salad, 2 bowls of miso one after the salad and one like an after dinner drink.
I don't like any sauces on my rolls especially at this place because everything is so fresh and I want to taste what I am eating for its fullness. It never disappoints. Now, as far as tastes go, they have managed to come up with some very down to earth formulas and mixtures of different foods that blend together very well.
The presentation is up there with the finest. Different size plates, some out of wood, small bowls and condiments just all come together willingly and correctly. I have never had a bad experience for the food. Everyone who I take there just raves about it.
One of the best values out there to day for "you get what you pay for". Now, when I meet up with my clients and they ask about lunch, I ask them if they like Sushi. Very rarely do I get a no. Then, my fun begins...
Cabin Sushi bows when you leave....I bow to them too.....
