I just needed to share my pride with all of you tonight!

Most of you know that one of our sons accepted the Banquet Chef position at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco this past January.

Our son was just promoted to Chef de Cuisine at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Tonight he prepared dinner for Orlando Bloom and his wife. If you live in the San Francisco area be sure to go to the Fairmont Hotel for the fine dining experience and tell our son we sent you:)

This promotion to the best dining experience only took him 3 months to earn.

We are so proud of him and I just have to send my kudos to him and show off this grand achievement in his career.

Joshua LOVES fine dining and gourmet cooking. He is writing his own cookbook. He creates his own recipes. At the Fairmont fine dining room they make their own sausage from scratch! Joshua is a magnificent chef. He has worked many long days and nights to get to this point in his life where he is finally rewarded and appreciated for his natural gift and talent of not only being able to present gourmet dishes but also can do all the ordering, accounting and knowing how to make a dining business profitable. Everyone is always impressed with his talents. Now all he needs is his own TV show!

When he was here in Florida he prepared dinners for the Bush family and many other dignitaries. In San Francisco he has already cooked for the Mayor of the city and other officials. Our young man was homeschooled and started cooking at home when he was very young. By the time he was 16 he was working at TGI Fridays and then moved on over to Darden Restaurants working at Olive Garden as a cook. He kept working his way up in each place he worked. But he got very frustrated working in those chain type restaurants because everything has to be the same and there is no creativity going into the menus and dishes.

Then he was offered a position at Tavern On The Green of Wellington with Jenny Oz. He really created a name for himself there with loads of compliments from CEOs of companies to Polo Team owners and many other celebrities and prominent figures. He has cooked for Bruce Springsteen and Tommy Lee Jones.

I just got the text today that he received his new promotion! YEAH! For Joshua! You deserve it!

Congratulations to your son. That is one tough business to be dedicated to - my husband and I are investors in a very popular restaurant in Chicago and I know what it takes to keep it going. The hours are rigorous but these people have a passion for what they are doing.

Peggy- Yes, I agree. That is his goal. To really make a name for himself. He will most likely be able to go to London in a year's time or Singapore. He is very excited about the possibilities and he has such amazing drive. He is like me, knows what he wants and goes for it:)

Margaret- Ah, yes, how I know! He has really done his time since he was 16 years old. He is now 29 years old and has already accomplished what takes most men in this biz till their 50's to accomplish! I am SOOOO proud of him.

katerina, this is a heck of skills one has to have in order to be a chef, and my utmost respect to people who have it. I know how tough this business is, and your son, obviously, is exceptionally good Of course, he is a bit too far to go for a dinner, but this might be your fault, Katerina?
