"Laureate Park," named in honor of our past Nobel laureates is coming soon to Lake Nona. To be built within walking distance of the medical city, land is already being cleared for phase 1, about 200 homes which will be in the southern portion of the project.
The development will resemble neo-traditional Baldwin Park (and portions of Northlake Park in Lake Nona) with narrow lots and back alleys. The median price for the first phase will be $315,000 with some priced lower than $200,000. In keeping with most Lake Nona area developments, Laureate Park will be pedestrian friendly with a small village center possibly housing a fitness center, restaurant and coffee shop.
The medical city is creating higher wage earning jobs, supporting the Lake Nona housing market and local economy overall. The projected median income is $70,000. With little new construction in the area and demand outpacing supply in recent months, a solid level of demand is anticipated for new residential construction.
In addtion to single family and townhome residences, Laureate Park has future plans for two hotels. One would be an extended stay hotel for families of hospital patients and the other a conference style inn for visiting affiliates of the Burnham Institute and UCF's College of Medicine.
Also planned is Watermark, a mulit-family complex currently in the permitting process.
