I can't believe I'm writing this post and it's only March. How on earth could I have fallen off the wagon so early in the year? So here I am confessing that I have to get back on the wagon and get back to basics...yet again!
Fresh from the Brian Buffini Turning Point retreat in Richmond, Virginia I am ready to rock 'n roll. I am thankful that this event occurred so early in the year; otherwise I could have been so much further behind. As successful real estate professionals we all know what we should be doing...calling past clients, as well as your sphere of influence, writing personal notes and dropping by to say hello, it's still good to get that little reminder or a swift kick! Life just moves so quickly that it is unbelievably easy to get off track.
My main take away from the two day Turning Point retreat was to commit to the activities, be consistent and trust the process. It is so easy to be committed in the first week. You are calling people you may not have spoken with for months...so it's good to reconnect. But I'm thinking around week 3 is when I'm going to need to remember to stay committed to the activities. The same is true with being consistent. Once you start working with a dozen or so active buyers and sellers it's easy to let the marketing activities fall by the wayside. They say it takes about six weeks to develop a habit. Hopefully I can develop this "habit" faster.
The last one could be the most difficult. If I have committed to the activities and been consistent and haven't seen any results I know I'll have to "trust the process", but it might be hard. I am told that if you continue to "trust the process" you WILL see an increase in your business.
I'm going to try my very best to stick with the program; write my notes, make my calls and pop-bys, but be forewarned, you may be seeing another post about me getting back to basics...again!
