According to our State Board of Realtors, Wisconsin is ahead of the national trend when it comes to comparing the second quarter this year to the same period last year.
National sales volume was down 10.8%. Wisconsin dropped 7.2. The Midwest overall was down 8.4, still beating the national trend. Despite the drop in volume, the data gives a slight increase in average home price, statewide increasing 1.2%.
Looking at the data below, I made a very interesting observation. The Wisconsin regions with the largest price increases were the very same ones with the largest fall in volume. Doesn't make sense to me!
