83 Comments on O.K. You iPad Junkies - Meet my New Baby!
Jane, I've not seen the XOOM yet. I have an iPad but would also consider one of these. Isn't it much nicer than lugging our laptops around?
Aha ! Caught you with your Xoom showing !!
I love my iPad, so welcome to tabletworld, it is just SOOOO easy & convenient isnt it !!!!
Judi, very cool :)
Leilani, I lost my netbook, otherwise I would not have moved either.
Elizabeth, oh for sure. I was so afraid I was going to drop mine, not to mention that it isn't exactly light.
Sheldon, it certainly is. And the Droid is so PC-like :)
Jane, your new Xoom is just cute! Can you make a video of you in action with it so we can see how it goes?
Jane - It looks like fun! I've been considering a tablet, probably a Droid based. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
Jane you tech savvy girl you! Thanks for sharing this momentus event, I'm a HAPPY Droid user as are M, Paige and Pam, in other words the whole fam damily. I'll be checking out Xoom very soon.
400,000 points...good work!
Congratulations Momma! It looks sharp. Will have to check it out, up til your post we had only check ipads and playbook....
Hey also congratulations on breaking another barrier! 400K shows you've been working hard! ;)
Jane, I have been looking at the xoom for some time, but now Sprint is coming out with the 3D View that you can write on and save the info, choices, choices, choices....
Jane - Ok, I must be blind or I just can't see it in the pix but where do you type? How big is it or how compact is it? How does it close up? Is the screen covered when traveling? Is it a LCD screen?
Maria, um, no :) You can go online thought and there are many demos.
Christine, it is quite a robust little guy.
Charles, thanks for noticing. You will love the Xoom. It does more than I thought it would.
Al & Peggy, thank you. I think for business needs, the iPad is not the best choice.
Gerry, I hadn't heard of that one. There are going to be so many coming out this year.
Donne, when you touch an input field the keyboard pops up on the screen just like a touch phone. The screen is 10.1" (diagonally) and the whole thing is about 9.5" wide. What you see it standing on is its case. You just close it up into it. LCD? It fits in my purse very comfortably. LCD? You got me.
OK...That's it...I need to get one of these. Knowing me, it'll probably be an ipad, but you've given us food for thought.
David, be careful with the iPad. There is nothing more frustrating than not being able to blog or use certain sites. Do your research.
You sold me, Jane! and I told the salesperson aat Verizon to give you credit! Although I did get the keypad... at least for home / office use. It took me a bit to figure out how to activate the blue tooth option to power on the keyboard. And seems to be a bit of a delay on the keyboard, but much faster than I could type on the tablet.
But here's the reason I went with the Xoom vs IPad - this one will connect with an LCD projector, whereas the IPad didn't.. And because I do a lot of presentations, I needed the ability to hook to a projector (rrequires a HDMI projector, BUT they said there might be 3rd party provider that has an adaptor for my old projector??? "OLD ONE" says it all... if not, time to upgrade probably to a smaller projector, too!
Ruth, Yay. I have a Xoom buddy. We are going to have to compare notes. Verizon are looking into why I can't always type of certain sites. Congrats. You are going to love it.
And congrats on 400,000 points. I'm still a couple of months away from a Xoom. Have you tried any video chats yet?
John, thank you. No, I have not tried anything daring yet. I am still getting used to it, as are Verizon and Motorola, by the way. Everyone sits there with handbooks trying to help.
Jane - the BEST product is the product YOU have and love. Enjoy!!
Hmm Jane. I was waiting for the laptop 3, but I might take a look at The Zoom. I hear good things.
Patty, I totally agree.
Scott, never heard of the Laptop 3?
