I am watching Good Morning America this morning and there is this piece about unclaimed money.  This is abandoned money in banks, unclaimed checks from local, state and federal governments, etc.  I am thinking to myself how can you lose money?  How cannot you not know?  You have to be some kind of dummy.  I am smug in my convictions.

Later in the day I am reading the local paper, the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.  They have this four page spread titled "Connecting people with unclaimed assets".  I have seen this type of announcement before.  I peruse the names and holy smoke there is my name - Conrad Allen.  I guess you can imagine that this name is not like John Smith.  It has to be me.  I am delirious with anticipation.  I will probably be able to retire to a Caribbean island or sail the seven seas.

I excitedly go to the state's website and fill out the necessary information for the state to proceed with my claim.  The icon indicates that my claim is $100+.  That is all that I know.  My anticipation for future fortune grows with each passing minute.

I found out I had money in a trust account opened for me in Reno Nevada - by my Godfather when I was born...so, you never know ;) good luck!!

Hey, Conrad...nice find!  I had that happen a few years ago.  There was a full page in the Dallas Morning News with a list of people.  I did not see that; however, I had four people call me to let me know.  I had a total of over $3,000 from two different sources.  Talk about a Pot of Gold!

Great news Conrad.  Maybe it's $101 and you can then send the first $40 for the increase in NAR dues!  LOL.  The other $61 will buy you a tank of gas.  Guess that makes me a gas tank half empty kind of person, huh?

Hi Tni - I need a name like Tni.  I thought Conrad would be different enough.  It is not.  I don't think you will ever be half empty kind of person.  You have two emotionally and physically draining professions.  Half empty people get chewed up and spit out.
