Happy Earth Day, Fred! Lightbulbs and toilet paper are two good things to keep in the trunk of your car.

LOL Fred, thanks for the laugh as we roll into Friday! If you unplug your electrical cords when not in use, that also saves energy.

Howdy and morning to you Fred

Fred,
when there is a light that everyone forgets to turn off, folks can make a sticker or a sign to hang next to the switch that says "Lights Out!" or "Don't Forget To Turn Me Off!"

Where ever possible around the home, folks sure do want to use compact fluorescent light bulbs. Them there funny-looking bulbs produce the same amount of light, but they use 1/4 of the electricity. Plus, they last for years and years without burning out.

Thank you mighty kindly for the hoot, from that little ole cartoon!

Have a good Earth Hour

Fred - with Earth HourTM comming at 8:30 tomorrow March 26th I thought I would ask if you have many homes that are Energy Star rated in your neck of the woods.

Hi William...Years ago I knew a Contractor and his wife who came to Canada from Russia to Start a new Life..She would pick up Nails on the Ground to help keep costs down. When they Sold a House she removed all the light bulbs and kept them to put in the next house.

Hi Kathy...It's been in place in our MLS system for some time, I have yet to see a home listed with an energy star rating here..The Government offers Grants to pay to have them done, yet little interest...wait until Oil goes to $200 gal :O)

Hi Joshua...Great, I believe the plan is for everyone in the world to turn off their lights tonight from 8:30 pm to 9:30pm.

Fred - Our house went dark and we turned to candle light for the hour ..... But to truly go dark one would have had to pull all the plugs on all those little wall warts that we use to charge our electronics ..... unplug all our instant on electronics ..... and all those glow in the dark idiot lights on the microwave, the clock radio, the stereo ..... or simply pull the main breaker.

I've been seeing more and more of this with foreclosures where they take EVERYTHING, including the light bulbs when they leave the house.
